ISGA goes ULOS-UT-OUT: The Enchantment of Nature, Learning and Movement 1–3 September 2027, Helsinki, Finland
Welcome to the international ISGA goes ULOS-UT-OUT event, bringing together professionals in school grounds, outdoor learning and outdoor play from around the world. The theme of the event in Finland is the enchantment of nature, learning and movement – how school grounds and local environments support children’s and young people’s learning, movement and well-being.
ISGA (International School Grounds Alliance) is a global volunteer network that brings together leaders in the use, design and management of school grounds, promoting high-quality design and everyday use of school grounds to support children’s learning, play and well-being. The ISGA conference is held every two years in a different part of the world.

Previous event: ULOS-UT-OUT Going Out wild 2026, Tampere
The previous ULOS-UT-OUT (UUO2026) was held in Tampere on 9–11 June 2026 at Sammon koulu and across Tampere’s urban nature. Finland’s largest outdoor learning event brought together nearly 500 teachers, educators, instructors, decision-makers, researchers and students under the theme Ihan villinä – Helt Vilt – Going out wild! Recordings from the event will be published in late 2026.
The event program will examine the theme of Going Out Wild from four different perspectives:
- Wild in nature: diverse nature, the human relationship with nature
- Wild in the city: urban environments and social influence
- Wild pedagogy: different pedagogical solutions and combining them
- Too wild? The well-being effects of nature, as well as safety and risks
